TRICENTRAL ATHLETE NEWS:
Weekend of the 17 January, 2010
Tricentral.co.uk coached athletes have got of to a flier even before the season has started.
Chris Standidge, coached by TriCentral, is working towards qualifying for Ironman Hawaii this season at Ironman Coeur de Lane.
As part of his base training Chris had entered the 4 Villages Half Marathon and finished in a time of 1hr19mins.
Next stop will be a 10 day training camp at the beginning of March and the Wilmslow Half Marathon were he will be looking to break 1hr15mins.
Paul Maye, again coached by TriCentral, also raced the 4 Villages half marathon and after an injury plagued winter was still able to pull of a 1hr 40min run.
Paul is training for 70.3 Austria and the UK 70.3. His next stop is the Wilmslow Half Marathon.
Also racing on the weekend was Richard Williams from Liverpool.
Richard has been coached by TriCentral for 6 months with a goal of racing an Ironman in sub 9hrs30min in 4 years time. His first step on the way there was 70.3 South Africa.
With all the stresses of losing his bike for a few days due to airport transfers and getting a flat on his tubular tyre when going out on a practise ride, Richard still managed to listen to his coach and stick to his race plan and qualify for the 70.3 World Champs in Clearwater at the end of the year. This was an outstanding performance considering he only started the sport 6 months ago and is an athlete to watch for the future. Richard is off to race Singapore 70.3 in March.
